About Us
Glasgow's grassroots fringe theatre, currently finding a new home.
Current Status
After the loss of our building at 118 Osborne Street, Theatre 118 is between homes. We are not currently operating a public venue, rehearsal rooms, or regular box office, but we are still building the next chapter for grassroots theatre in Glasgow.
Who We Are
Theatre 118 is a fringe theatre supporting Glasgow's grassroots theatre community. Led by experienced theatre makers, we have provided affordable rehearsal space, workshops, mentorship, and resources for emerging theatre artists who are underserved by existing arts infrastructure.
Our work is rooted in the belief that theatre should be part of every Glaswegian's life. While we look for a new permanent home, we are keeping our archive, press, artist relationships, and future programming channels alive so the community we built has somewhere to gather again.
What We Do
Affordable Rehearsal Space
This remains central to our mission. Once we secure a new home, affordable space for grassroots artists will be one of the first things we rebuild.
Artist Development
We continue to champion emerging artists through advice, relationships, and future planning while we work toward new workshops and development opportunities.
Shows and Events
Our public programme is paused while we are between homes. The past shows archive records what happened at Theatre 118 and points toward what we want to make possible again.
Our Impact Since March 2025
In just nine months, Theatre 118 has made a significant contribution to Glasgow's theatre scene, providing support to an underserved community of artists.
Looking Ahead
Following the end of our meanwhile use arrangement, we are seeking a new home to continue and expand our work.
